Calgary JCC Fitness

Our bright and airy fitness centre features cardio equipment including specialty pieces like a Skill Mill and Nu Steps, two well-equipped free weight areas, cable machines, Atlantis pin-loaded strength machines, and a large functional area complete with a Crossfit™ rig, racks, Smith Machine and shock absorbent flooring.

We believe in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.  If you have questions or feel unsure, we are here to help!  Ask one of our knowledgeable fitness monitors for guidance or sign up for a personal training session with one of our experienced and certified fitness professionals.

8 Crazy Days – Squat Challenge

Complete the EIGHT challenges for your chance to win one of three prizes!

Get ready for our third annual Chanukah Fitness Challenge! This year, we tackle the squat – a functional exercise that keeps your lower body strong and mobile for real life activities.  When you squat you engage hips, knees and ankles all at once, so you not only build muscle and bone strength but also improve joint health and strength. Entry is free; no registration required.

 

Each day from December 26 2024 to January 2, 2025:

  • Look for the squat challenge posted in the Fitness Centre and GroupX areas.
  • Do the specified squat (we will have varying levels of difficulty) at the JCC.
  • Get your sticker from the fitness monitor or GroupX instructor.
  • Add sticker to the tracking chart located at the Fitness Centre and GroupX Studio.
  • At the end of the eight days, names with all eight challenges completed will be entered into our draw to win one of three prizes.

Not at the JCC for one or two days of the challenge? That’s okay – catch up when you return!

Get ready for our second annual Chanukah Fitness Challenge! This year, we tackle the shoulder bridge – great for strengthening gluteals and hamstrings and increasing core and back stability. Entry is free; no registration required.

 

Each day from December 8 to 15, 2023:

  • Look for the bridge challenge posted in the fitness centre and GroupX areas.
  • Do the specified bridge (we will have varying levels of difficulty) at the JCC.
  • Get your sticker from the fitness monitor or GroupX instructor.
  • Add sticker to the tracking chart located at the fitness centre.
  • At the end of the eight days, names with all eight challenges completed will be entered into our draw to win one of three prizes.
