Our fitness facility has everything you need to get fit (or keep fit if you are ahead of the game). We have a selection of great equipment, and even something our trainers call “the cage” (we promise it’s not as scary as it sounds). At the JCC we believe in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Working out shouldn’t be an intimidating occasion. If you don’t know how to use a piece of equipment, feel free to ask the weight room monitor for some help. And if you are really unsure, book a session or two with a personal trainer to get used to the equipment. Working out should be an enjoyable experience. Come on, we know you can do it!

Adult Fitness Classes
The BOSU gives a unique twist that will recharge your body, improve your coordination, and give the phrase “moving with control” a whole new meaning. This unique workout encompasses four areas: calorie combustion, absolute abs, long and lean body, and total body workout. Your body will love this 4-in-1 punch!
Activate core muscles and challenge your balance as you move through this workout. Incorporating a lightweight and flexible mini stability ball will add a new dynamic to your workout. This total-body routine thoroughly works the deep muscle systems of the body.
Total Body Sculpt Ages 65+
Using a flex-band, participants will tone and elongate muscles, sculpt arms and legs simultaneously, develop core abdominal muscles and back strength. In time, deep muscular strength, flexibility, and overall endurance will be developed.
Core, agility, resistance, and endurance. Led by a JCC personal trainer, this class is focused on large dynamic movements and is tailored to the needs of the participants. With a focus on functional movements the trainer safely pushes you beyond what you believe yourself capable of, and provides motivation for the days when you need a little extra pep!
Designed for all fitness levels, appealing to men and women of all ages and abilities This fun and unique class provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up, and rockin’ out! Using Ripstix (lightly-weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising), drumming is transformed into an incredibly effective way of working out Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and Pilates-inspired movements.

Interval training is a great way to improve your endurance and general strength. Burn calories as you increase you heart rate and perform excercises that focus on abdominal, back, and hip strength. This will help improve your balance, stability, and overall strength, making everyday activities easier.
Full Figure FITness
This fun, challenging and inspiring class is designed specifically for men and women who want to become stronger, get active and have fun in a safe environment where everyone is similar in shape and size. If you have a desire to change the direction your fitness is taking, come and join us. Everyone needs a place to start.
TRX & Tabata
Using the TRX resistance trainer is already challenging. Combine it with Tabata, and you’ll be guaranteed a tough workout. If you’re looking for an add-on to your workout regime or just general health, then this is the class for you!
Female Only Fitness - Ages 16 and up
This femaile only bootcamp incorporates strength, cardio, endurance, and flexibility in a fun and social environment. Come try our challenging and enjoyable class made for you!
Vitality, Performance and Reconditioning Classes blend strentgh with multidimensional exercises integrating every system of human movement. ViPR classes are formatted to take full advantage of wholebody circuit training as well as cardio.
Taekwon-Do Martial Arts
Martial arts is a great way to exercise both the body and mind! Whether you are trying something new or picking up an old hobby, our traditional Taekwon-do classes provide dedicated instructors, hands-on learning, the opportunity to compete, improve your strength, flexibility, and self-defense. Great for ages 16-60!
Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement
Join us as we learn simple yet effective movement sequences that free up our minds, ease our bodies, and give us new ideas on how to feel more potent and alive. Each class is different, yet relaxing, and provides ideas that you can use in the days following the class to reduce your stress and discomfort. We meet on the floor, so be sure to wear comfortable clothing; bring a towel for support.
Catchball Ages 28+
The game that has taken Israel by storm (with over 12,000 women playing) has become very popular in Calgary. It is played like volleyball, but with catching and throwing. Perfect for all skill levels. This program is great for anyone who wants to be part of a team, play with friends or meet new ones. The games are easy to play and laughter is a must!
