Circus Night

From the streets of Tel Aviv to the Calgary JCC, Asaf-n-Roll will entertain you with comedy and juggling with a twist and shout! Bring your picnic (kosher sensitive) and blanket on to the JCC field, rain or shine, between  for this busker show - suggested donation is $20. Treats will be available for purchase for cash only. One of the Sukkot traditions is to have our meals in the sukkah, a temporary hut built to protect the Jewish people while in the dessert. Our beautiful sukkah will be open for everybody to enjoy their meals and restful time. Private functions and community agencies are welcome. Email Shula to book the Sukkah.

Israeli Folk Dance ages 16+

Yael Guterman, Israeli RAD certified dance instructor, owner of La Pointe Dance Studio, will teach you traditional Israeli folk dance steps, combinations, and current Israeli dance choreographies. A moderate workout set to traditional and contemporary Israeli songs. A fun class to move your body and soul and connect with fellow dancers! No experience or partner required. Dress comfortably and wear exercise shoes.

Israeli Folk Dance for Families

Israeli culture is made up of many influences: from the Mediterranean, Yemenite, African, and European stylizations. It is our responsibility to enrich our children‘s awareness and knowledge of their heritage, which can be done creatively through dance; Israeli Folk Dancing is a great way to explore and deepen that connection. This is a wonderful family activity that brings the joy of spending quality time together while receiving instruction in folk and modern dance. After dancing the hora and maim steps, families are invited to the gym for Family Fun time.

Community Klezmer Band
Explore klezmer music and related musical traditions with Frank Rackow. Musicians of any instrument who are able to read and play music at an intermediate level may join this class.
